Maqluba (11:24)
2015

Ali and Nidal are photojournalists, who were born and raised in Gaza but now live in Germany. Accompanied by two visual anthropologists, Andreea and Sungeun, in their Berlin apartment they talk about their experience of being war photographers in their own hometown. In attempt to grasp their experience Andreea and Sungeun ask them to elaborate on the smell of war only to realize that their premeditated questions can be answered in limited verbal expressions. Sharing the traditional Palestinian food, Maqluba, that Ali cooks for them, they finally come one step closer toward the sensorial experience of being home in Gaza, which happens to be at war.
