Ongoing visual research project in Jeju Island, South Korea
The images of the transnational paradise are prevalent in Jeju island (S.Korea) not only in its museums but also in the government-led campaigns idealising the capitalistic development. This video mimics the schizophrenic experience of being a tourist in the island, reflecting its hybridization of ‘exotic’ cultures systematically implemented since the beginning of the cold war.
