"당신의 마음속에 존재하는 '부재의 존재'는 무엇인가요?"
‘부재의 존재’는 사운드 씨어터, 이동형, 참여형 등의 형식들이 복합적으로 구성된 공간반응형 거리극 공연으로, 매 회당 1명의 관객이 참여하는 한 사람을 위한 공연이다. 관객은 도시의 한 장소에 앉아 자신이 살아가는 도시의 풍경을 바라보며, 실존하지 않지만 사운드를 통해 존재하는 낯선 사람과 어떤 종류의 관계를 형성하게 된다. 관객은 먼저 자리를 떠나는 사운드의 존재를 찾아가는 과정에서 자신에게 익숙한 도시를 낯설게 여행하고, 최종 장소에 도착하여서는 또 다른 이야기들을 발견하게 되면서 부재와 존재의 개념에 대해 감각하고, 사유하는 시간으로 초대된다.

“What is the ‘existence of absence’ that lives in your heart?”
The Existence of Absence is a site-responsive street performance that merges elements of sound theatre, mobility, and participatory experience. Structured as a one-on-one performance, each session invites a single audience member. Seated at a specific urban location, the viewer observes the landscape of their city while forming a strange kind of relationship with an unseen figure—someone who does not physically exist but is perceptibly present through sound. In tracing the path of this sonic existence, the participant begins to travel through their familiar city in unfamiliar ways. Upon arriving at the final site, new stories unfold, offering a sensory and reflective experience of absence and existence.

2023 : ‘나’는 일인극의 관객이며 동시에 공연을 기록하는 자이기도 하지만 사실 그 중간 어딘가에서 희미해진다. 각기 다른 시간성을 가진 3대의 카메라가 한 장면을 기록하고 그 낙차의 풍경이 둥둥 떠다닌다.

“I” am both a spectator of this solo performance and its documenter, yet ultimately fade somewhere in between. Three cameras with different temporalities record the same moment; their dissonant perspectives drift like suspended fragments.
2022 : 제주 산지천 일대를 돌아다니며 일인극을 재연해보았다. 극에 참여한 배우들과 관객들이 영상속에 목소리로 등장한다.
2022 Documenation
The immersive solo performance, originally designed for a single audience member, was deliberately re-enacted in and around the Sanjicheon area in Jeju. This re-performance became a way to document the piece from a different perspective, with the voices of the original actors and audience participants appearing throughout the video.
